A Family Legacy
Our Story
Family-owned and operated since 1926, Bova's Bakery has spent nearly a century perfecting the art of authentic Italian baking in Boston's historic North End.
Antonio Bova immigrated from Reggio, Calabria, Italy and opened A. Bova & Sons Bakery at 79 Price Street in 1926. With relentless dedication — working around the clock with, as he famously said, "one eye opened" — Antonio built a beloved institution, hand-delivering fresh bread to neighbors and growing his family's trade one loaf at a time.
Today, from our home at 134 Salem Street, we still bake everything by hand using recipes handed down through three generations. Our brick oven turns out the freshest Italian cookies, pastries, and breads every single day — 24 hours, 365 days a year.
